I am beyond stoked to announce the premiere of “Here Now: Past & Present”, the first original Shred Sledz film. The full film is live on the site so hit the link in my bio to check it out! “Here Now” features @gooch_d and @marcandreini and was filmed and directed by @kyle_buthman. As you might know, I’m fascinated with vintage surfboards and the history of surfboard design. “Here Now” examines the evolution of Andreini’s famous Vaquero model (originally known as the 365), as seen through the lens of Darshan’s stylish and radical surfing, and memorably captured by Kyle. The film features Darshan riding a 70s 365 as well as a newer Vaquero model. I loved being able to contrast these two boards from opposite ends of Marc’s decades-long career, and to observe the common threads between them. There’s something special about the fact that surf history can be experienced this way, and that riding a board shaped 50 years ago delivers the same sensations today as it did many years ago.
